Workshop: Analytical and Computational Problems for Mixtures and Plasma Dynamics

Dates: June 17-21 (except for 20), 2019
Venue: HIM lecture hall, Poppelsdorfer Allee 45, Bonn
Organizers: Milana Pavic-Colic (Novi Sad), Irene M. Gamba (Austin, Texas), Liu Liu (Austin, Texas)

Modern applications of kinetic equations of collisional type, such as the Boltzmann or Fokker-Planck-Landau equations and systems or related models arising in mesoscopic modeling range from rarefied gas mixing and collisional plasma dynamics, to quantum-statistical systems as well as to polymers and bio systems. There are existing and new challenges both in non-linear analysis and numerical approximations and simulations including uncertainty quantification, multi-scale and multi-physics numerical approximations and extended complex particle phenomena. This workshop aims to bring together a broad group of researchers with diverse interests to explore and discuss recent progress in these topics.
