Workshop: Effective equations: frontiers in classical and quantum systems

Dates: June 24-28, 2019
Venue: HIM lecture hall, Poppelsdorfer Allee 45, Bonn
Organizers: Roberta Bianchini (Lyon), Serena Cenatiempo (L'Aquila), Lingbing He (Beijing), Alessia Nota (Bonn), Chiara Saffirio (Zürich), Sergio Simonella (Lyon), Raphael Winter (Bonn)

Considerable progress has been made in the last years in developing new mathematical methods to rigorously understand the emergence of kinetic equations from microscopic many-body interacting systems. In particular, several interesting questions regarding classical systems in the low density limit and quantum systems in the mean field and in the Gross–Pitaevskii regimes are now approachable by rigorous mathematical analysis.

The main goal of this workshop is to connect researchers interested in the derivation and in the analysis of effective macroscopic equations. The workshop aims to promote the exchange of information concerning techniques that have been developed in different contexts.
